new york band Typhoon Ferri performed with a New York band in August during their 3 week tour of the New York City, Washington DC and Philadelphia areas. The New York band was named Cobblestone and the show was a big hit. The opening act whose name escapes me at this time played a 25 minute version of "Star Spangled Banner" in a style quite different from the Jimi Hendrix version we're all familiar with. Hendrix was known for his sloppy and creative and downright tremendous guitar playing, but this particular New York band will be known in my mind for their strange pants. Each band member was wearing burberry pants and a white collared shirt. Pretty funny actually. New York band members have had a different role in the post 9/11 times. I feel like every show that I go to in New York since that time has been a tribute in one way or another.
