Jen Gaudet submitted this story about the buy music conference in Jackson Hole. She is a volunteer there and has been volunteering at the buy music conference for a few years. It is the third and final day of the buy music conference and I have met so many wonderful people. Most of my time was spent at the downloadable music booth which features freeware software products that we support. People who came by to say hello were so impressed with the things these software products can do. We showed off goldwave which was really impressive and people were asking me how to get a copy and I showed them that they can just movie download'>download a free version of their own from the goldwave site. We also spent some time showing computer novices how to rip their CDs and put the music into their players. The buy music conference was a tremendous success. He gave me a variety of stories about lawsuits against individuals who downloaded a riduculous amount of free music and shared it with the world. The cases were all very interesting. It made me think twice about where and how I am getting the music that I download. The purpose of the conference is to promote the purchasing of online music. We provide various outlets for purchasing music online. We have the buy music hot list which is a pamphlet with sites that you can refer to when you wish to purchase songs. Overall people were very warm and welcoming here in Jackson Hole.
