new music
New music is something that can really brighten up my week. Sometimes I wait around for the release of an album for a couple months, full of anticipation. There is nothing quite like the process of sifting through an album to determine what songs will stick with you and what new music songs will be the filler of the album. I enjoy finding new music online. I often use kazaa and other file sharing products, but I recently had to uninstall it from my computer because the software was running a variety of programs that were eating up the resources on my computer. So for the short term, the new music came to a halt. What did I do when my main source for new music disappeared? I went to shows. I went to a bunch of shows at the middle east in cambridge and a bunch of shows at the paradise rock club in boston. I picked up cds at every show and have really enjoyed the listening. I guess you could say that I did it the old fashioned way! I get free mp3

continued... title='music cd'>music downloads all the time, but I feel that the artistry is lost a little bit becuase the songs are taken out of context. When an artist builds an album, they are deciding what songs should be paired up and that in itself is artwork. New music is not good new music unless it is in the context of the album. A lot of people are content with the sound quality of the mp3s and the fancy mp3 players such as ipod which play mp3 song'>free music, but I am not. I think the quality has been dropping off since vinyl. When was the last time you sat down and listened to a good vinyl tune - tremendous. Now we are in the age of new music and mp3 and other digital formats that will certainly be coming down the road, and the sound quality is terrible.
