Records for sale nowadays are not usually records at all, they are compact discs. It's funny how the word "vinyl" has replaced record as the way to refer to that big black spinning disc. continued... then I'm better off buying individual songs through the mac store or something. When I listen to music records from my favorite artists, I like to walk through different rooms and hear different things. If there is no liveliness to the record, then I might be better of picking up a record that is a live recording. I don't like boring studio energy. Of course, catchiness is the big thing. Does it stick in your head. I've been listening to some good albums recently and I know that the music is catchy because it sticks in my head and plays on the old mental turntable.
