blues rock
When blues rock legends the Allman brothers came to town in the 70's, Typhoon Ferri drummer wasn't even born. But that doesn't stop him from enjoying their music. Blues rock is a big part of his development. Influences include John Bonham, and Buddy Rich, but his melodic songwriting follows the path of blues rock greats such as the Black Crowes and the Allmans. One effect of his blues rock influence led him to take up harmonica. You will hear him performing on various tracks of the new Typhoon Ferri album with his bluesy harmonica riffs. Live shows are a lot of fun because the drummer gets it going on the drums and the harp. The only blues rock that Typhoon Ferri drummer has in his CD player at this particular time is Lynrd Skynrd. You could classify this music as roots rock or even country rock, but no guitarist can mix in blues elements into his playing like the lead guitarist of blues rock

It's almost like saying american cadillac. Some of my favorite clubs for getting out to hear some blues rock are harpers ferry in allston ma and the house of blues in cambridge ma. another good place is the cantab lounge downstairs. They run a really nice open blues jam on tuesday nights. Sometimes a blues rock band will open up, but for the most part it's just some fun music and sharing solos and blues feel. Long live blues rock.
